Terms of Service
Effective date: October 4, 2026.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Elijah Pereira ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using Good Samaritan you agree to them.
1. What Good Samaritan is
Good Samaritan connects neighbors who want to give their time with neighbors who could use a hand - a ride, groceries, company, a small errand, a community clean-up. We are a meeting place. We do not employ, screen in depth, supervise or guarantee the people you meet, and we are not an emergency service.
In an emergency, call 911.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must give accurate information about yourself, including your real name and a real photo of you.
- One person, one account. Accounts are personal and can't be transferred.
- We may review your profile (and, where available, verify your phone number) before you can post or offer help.
3. Meeting people in person
Helping happens offline, between you and another member. You decide whether to offer help, accept an offer, or meet. Please read our Safety Tips. You are responsible for your own decisions and conduct. Meet in public places when you can, tell someone where you're going, and leave if anything feels wrong.
4. Money
Good Samaritan is about time, not money. Members must not ask for, offer or accept payment for help arranged through the app. We never process donations or payments. The local organizations listed in the app are independent; if you choose to donate, you do so on the organization's own website under its own terms.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (requests, stories, prayers, board posts, photos, messages). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share that content to run and promote Good Samaritan - for example, showing your request to nearby helpers or generating a share card when you or another member shares it. Requests, events and stories you mark as shareable may be shown on a public web page that shows the general area only, never your exact address.
6. Community rules
Follow our Community Guidelines. In short: be kind, be honest, no harassment, hate, sexual content, scams, selling, or asking for money, and respect people's privacy. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break the rules, at our discretion.
7. Reporting and blocking
You can report any person or post and block anyone. We review reports and may act on them, but we can't promise a particular outcome or timeline.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in My Hub > Settings > Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk.
9. Disclaimers
Good Samaritan is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and we are not liable for the acts or omissions of any member, for anything that happens when members meet, or for indirect or consequential losses. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. If the change is significant we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn't resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either side may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court.
