Community Guidelines

Good Samaritan works because people trust each other enough to show up. Help us keep it that way.

Be real

• Use your real name and a real photo of you.
• Only ask for help you actually need, and only offer help you can actually give.
• Show up when you say you will. If plans change, say so in the chat as early as you can.

Be kind

• No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or slurs - ever.
• No sexual content or advances. This is not a dating app.
• Respect people's beliefs. Prayer is welcome; pressure is not.

Keep it about time, not money

• Don't ask for, offer or accept money, gift cards or payment apps for help.
• Don't sell things or advertise.
• Want to give money? Use the local organizations in the Give section - you donate on their own site.

Protect privacy

• Never post someone else's address, phone number or photo without permission.
• Keep exact addresses in the private chat with the helper you accepted. Public posts should only name the general area.
• Don't screenshot and share private messages.

Stay safe

• Meet in public when you can. Tell someone where you're going.
• Never go somewhere that feels unsafe. It's always OK to cancel.
• If something goes wrong, report it in the app or email safety@goodsamaritanapp.com. In an emergency call 911.

What happens if rules are broken

We may remove posts, limit accounts, or permanently ban people. Posts that trip our filter are held for a quick human review before they appear.
